About the Covington Church of Christ (Disciples)
The Covington Church of Christ is part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination. We’re located in Covington PA, in rural township in north central Tioga county. We’re a small church with a big heart!
We believe that church should be the safest place to share your struggles, ask questions, and be the real you. Our goal is to provide a place where that can become a reality.
What can you expect?
We are a traditional style church with some of the best hymns of the faith and the occasional modern worship song. One of the things that sets our denomination apart from the typical protestant church is that we celebrate communion every Sunday. Communion is open to all who are followers of Jesus, and is the central element of worship in our tradition. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the living Christ is met and received in the sharing of the bread and the cup. The presence of the living Lord is affirmed and He is proclaimed to be the dominant power in our lives. 1
We are a “come as you feel comfortable” church. On any given Sunday you will see everything from jeans and a t-shirt to suits and dresses. Really, whatever you are wearing is fine.
The sound of children is always welcome in our sanctuary! We understand that children are going to act like children, and that is perfectly okay with us.
Our services typically last about an hour, some Sundays are a little longer, some are a little shorter.
